Tape City
1975-1996
| From: Ron J (tazz2u2006@yahoo.com) Sent: Thu 5/08/08 4:55 PM Subject: Photos of the old TAPE CITY Record Stores of Athens and Cleveland TN (Athens TN, Cleveland TN) Hi, just wanted to say I was a BIG CUSTOMER of yours at your 3rd. location I bought lots of cassettes from you and I still have most of them and they are still like new with the TAPE CITY stamp on them. I moved away for a couple of years and when I came back you was gone. And I really miss Tape City. Thanks for the GREAT MUSIC AND GREAT DEALS!!!!. |
| Subject: TAPE CITY Date: Wed, 30 Apr 2008 09:11:53 -0400 From: "Wade, Teresa" I had some of the best times of my life working at Tape City with you guys. It's fun to reminisce about those days. Hope to talk to you again soon! Teri |
| From: "Randy Hall" Subject: Greetings from Memphis Date: Tue, 5 Feb 2008 22:52:26 -0600 Phil, What’s up? Ben Crawford forwarded an email with your contact info and websites, and I’ve been getting a kick reading over your stuff. I know that I’ve told you before, but it bears repeating – I’m very grateful for the opportunities that you provided me with during my tenure at Tape City . From you I learned about controlling inventory, the importance of forecasting (how a single / album was moving on the charts and using that information to determine order quantities), and creating task lists / procedures to assure things were carried out to satisfaction. Every job that I have held has been a learning experience, good or bad, mostly depending upon my boss and the way that they conducted their business. I have always had a great deal of respect for you, the way you conducted your business, and the way that you treated you employees. ‘Nuff said. ............................ I enjoyed your websites, and I’ll have to catch up with Chris “Tyrone
Brown” over the next few days as well. |
| Date: Fri, 11 May 2007 08:24:19 -0400 From: "Billy Garren" <billy.garren@gmail.com> Subject: John Bean Hi Phil, I grew up in Athens (now live in
Andersonville, TN) and frequented Tape City as a youngster so I was
surprised to come up with your contact info while doing a search for
some John Bean stuff. I am looking for the Testimony Time calls on CD.
Do you still have any of this? I had it in the past (on cassette, not
CD) and I can't find my old copy of it. Also, the regular CD you have on
your website only has 10 calls, I think? Why didn't you put the second
call to C&C (way better than the first in my opinion) or the second call
to Eddie's ("I've got two boys and they're both bigger than me")?
Anyway, I've been listening to these tapes for going on 20 years now and
would love to get the Testimony Time calls on CD or even a cassette copy
if that's all you have. |
